We want your time with us to stay enjoyable. Gambling works best as entertainment – a choice, not a compulsion. If it ever stops feeling like that, the tools and support on this page can help you regain control.

Why responsible gambling matters

Most people play within their means and stop when they've had enough. But gambling activates the same reward pathways as other compulsive behaviours, and for some players the line between fun and harm shifts without them noticing. Recognising that shift early – and acting on it – makes all the difference.

Our approach is straightforward: we provide the controls, you decide when to use them. No judgement, no barriers. Setting a limit or taking a break is a sign of control, not failure.

Signs gambling is getting out of hand

These behaviours show up long before a problem becomes obvious. If more than one sounds familiar, it's worth taking them seriously:

Questions worth asking yourself

A short self-check, answered honestly, can clarify where you stand. These are yes/no questions – there's no scoring system, but the pattern of your answers matters:

If you answered yes to several of these, consider reaching out to one of the UK support organisations below. They're free, confidential, and built for exactly this.

Control tools we offer

We provide four limits you can set directly through your account. Each one takes effect immediately and requires a 48-hour cooling-off period before it can be relaxed or removed – a deliberate delay that gives impulsive decisions time to settle.

Deposit limit: caps how much you can add to your account over one day, one week, or one month. Once you hit the ceiling, no further deposits go through until the period resets.

Betting limit: restricts the total amount you can wager across the same time frames. The limit applies to stakes placed, not losses incurred, so a winning streak doesn't extend it.

Loss limit: sets a maximum on net losses – stakes minus winnings – over your chosen period. When the threshold is reached, you can still log in and check your account, but no further bets are accepted until the window rolls over.

Self-ban or time out: closes your account for a set period or indefinitely. A temporary exclusion can run from 24 hours to six months; a permanent one requires you to contact support to reverse it, and that reversal isn't automatic.

All four limits are binding once set. The 48-hour wait before any change takes effect applies whether you're raising a limit, removing one entirely, or ending a self-exclusion early. That window exists to protect decisions made in moments of clarity from being undone in moments of impulse.

Practical limits that work

Controls only help if they're set at levels that reflect your actual budget and habits. These aren't rules – they're starting points that many players find useful:

Where to get help in the UK

Support with gambling is free, confidential, and available around the clock. These organisations work with thousands of people each year, and reaching out to them doesn't commit you to anything beyond a conversation.

GamCare offers one-to-one counselling, group therapy, and a 24/7 helpline staffed by trained advisors. Call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (free from all UK phones) or visit www.gamcare.org.uk to start a live chat or book a session.

BeGambleAware provides information, advice, and direct referrals to treatment services across the UK. Their site includes a self-assessment tool, budgeting advice, and access to face-to-face support in your area: www.begambleaware.org.

Gordon Moody runs residential treatment programmes for people whose gambling has caused serious harm. They also offer online support groups and one-to-one therapy. Find out more at www.gordonmoody.org.uk.

GamStop is a free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks access to all UK-licensed gambling sites for a period you choose – six months, one year, or five years. Once you're registered, you can't reverse it until the term expires. Sign up at www.gamstop.co.uk.

Blocking software

If setting limits through individual operators feels insufficient, blocking software removes gambling sites from your devices entirely. Two widely used options are available in the UK:

Gamban (gamban.com) blocks access to tens of thousands of gambling sites and apps across all your devices – phones, tablets, and computers. It runs in the background and can't be easily disabled once installed. A subscription costs around £25 per year, with discounts available for people on low incomes.

BetBlocker (betblocker.org) is a free, open-source alternative that works on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. It blocks gambling domains at the system level and can be configured to cover specific devices or an entire household network.

Protecting minors

You must be 18 or over (18+) to use Slotti. Anyone younger is barred from creating an account, placing bets, or claiming bonuses – no exceptions. If a device is shared with someone under 18, consider installing parental-control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio to block gambling sites entirely. Both tools filter web traffic by category and can be password-protected so they can't be turned off without permission.

For questions about safer play, limits, or self-exclusion, email us at [email protected]. Gambling should be entertainment, not a chore.

This site is for players aged 18 and over (18+) only. If gambling ever stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential help is available at BeGambleAware.org.
